For me, it\u2019s a publication of out and out food porn, and I also like to \u2018keep in\u2019 with what\u2019s happening US-side in terms of ingredients and food trends. Compared to UK culinary trends, it\u2019s always been ahead of the pack and in B.A. you\u2019ll have read about heirloom tomatoes and chipotle chiles a good 10 years before they became commonly heard-of ingredients here in the UK. Besides, where else was I going to learn what on earth a pluot is?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The current Christmas issue has a special with sweets, cookies and cakes for (cheesy quote) \u2018The Holiday Season\u2019. My greedy little eye was immediately drawn to the recipe for pistachio and cherry nougat. My mum is a total nougat addict, and I hoped I\u2019d be able to pull off a polished box of Christmas \u2018candy\u2019. I switched out the dried cherries for glac\u00e9, much more festive, and used up some of our Ard\u00e8che honey. If you\u2019ve ever seen any of my cake recipes, you\u2019ll know I love a pistachio to myself, so I had high hopes!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thermometer, nuts, cherries, sugar and honey, edible wafer paper from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lakeland.co.uk\/Homepage.action\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Lakeland<\/span><\/strong><\/a>. If you\u2019ve made Italian meringue before, this is a pretty easy recipe. The results weren\u2019t 100%\u00a0 in that I couldn\u2019t get the damned thing to harden without putting it in the freezer, so it would be able to be cut, but it\u2019s still really tasty. If you like honey, you\u2019ll love this.
