Apologies for the near-silence on the leilappetit front of late, but fear not, I haven&#8217;t given up eating good food! It&#8217;s been a busy few weeks, and I&#8217;m a little bit behind on writing. Work has been bonkers with a fashion show (in aid of Poppy Scotland, which we did with Jenners &amp; House of Frasers) , various events and of course weddings. One week we had three weddings in a row! That ol&#8217; jolly fella Christmas is just around the corner too, so we&#8217;re heading in to the season of crackers, turkey and Bing Crosby.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Silver Fox and I spend three fantastique nights in Paris at the Start of the month. The City of Lights was as beautiful, not to mention d\u00e9licieux as ever. A post with some tasty snaps will be up soon, and a special Gourmet Girl column for the upcoming December edition of<strong><a title=\"Cocktails in the City at Mansfield Traquair\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bite-magazine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Bite Magazine<\/a><\/strong> will feature my top three favourite eats from our trip. Including ice cream and sorbet from Berthillion, here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Mandarin and figue sorbet \" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.staticflickr.com\/6110\/6368442591_712932f090.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I have also had a brush with celeb, as I was asked to film a couple of sequences for the new series of Channel 5&#8217;s <strong><a title=\"The Restaurant Inspector\" href=\"http:\/\/www.channel5.com\/shows\/the-restaurant-inspector\" target=\"_blank\">The Restaurant Inspector<\/a><\/strong>. I can&#8217;t downplay the fact that this was VERY EXCITING INDEED. As some of you will know, the TV crew were in town this month to film an Edinburgh episode, featuring <a title=\"Igg's\" href=\"http:\/\/www.iggs.co.uk\/iggs\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Igg&#8217;s Restaurante<\/strong><\/a> on Jeffrey Street.\u00a0 It was a fantastic experience to be the &#8216;mystery diner&#8217; and to see behind the scenes of how these shows work. Not to mention meeting the chaming, yet brilliantly straight-talking Mr Fernando Peire. Huge thanks to the production team (Kimberly, Dan and Ian in particular!) for looking after me and my dining partners so well, and I look forward to catching the new series of the show when it airs in the springtime.<\/p>\n<p>A word about steak. The Restaurant at The Rutland recently re-branded as<strong> <a title=\"Kyloe Restaurant \" href=\"http:\/\/www.kyloerestaurant.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kyloe<\/a>,<\/strong> the city&#8217;s first gourmet steak restaurant. My buddy Hazel is the manager there, an so I had a wee heads-up about this a couple of months back. Anyway, a full review will follow later this weekend. You know somewhere is good when you&#8217;re back within 2 weeks, and this is exactly what I&#8217;ve just done. It&#8217;s not just about the steaks either. I now have a real addiction to their beautiful sea bream ceviche dish. Beautiful stuff.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Ceviche\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.staticflickr.com\/6111\/6308300611_bb8d76670f.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lastly, I am chuffed to bits that December isn&#8217;t just about Santa. <strong><a title=\"Earthy foods and goods\" href=\"http:\/\/www.earthy.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Earthy Foods and Goods <\/a><\/strong>are coming to town! They&#8217;re about to open on the old site of Dionika Restuarant at Canonmills. First step is a temporary shop for the month of December, then they&#8217;re shutting down for a proper refurb and launch in the spring.<\/p>\n<p>Ok, time for a cuppa and I&#8217;ll be back soon!<\/p>\n<p>X Leila<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Hi folks!
